The Anti-Cruelty Society works to build a community of caring by helping pets and educating people. Dr. Robyn Barbiers, President of the Society, has been with them for almost a decade, and tells us about their upcoming fundraiser, other ways to help, and about “Sinbad the Survivor!” Listen below for the full interview:
Pour Your Heart Out:
Get ready for the 4th annual “Pour Your Heart Out” fundraiser to benefit the animals at the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago!
Join your fellow animal lovers on Thursday, February 23rd from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Union League Club of Chicago (65 W. Jackson). Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine, and beer. Plus, raffle prizes, a wine pull, and photo booth!
Register in advance through anticruelty.org to save $5.00! Guests can also register the day of the event.
Sinbad the Survivor:
You may have seen his face pop up on your Facebook feed, Instagram, or even People Magazine. Sinbad the Survivor has quite the story, and he’s been inspiring people all over the world these last few weeks!
Sinbad is an 8-year-old Persian cat who was found neglected in a basement in Chicago. His hair was so matted that he had 5 extra pounds of weight on him– that was just from the excess fur! Now, after a haircut and some TLC from the Anti-Cruelty Society, he’s eating, walking, and happy in his new forever home!
Sinbad’s happy-ever-after is all thanks to one man who saw him, and took action. It’s up to us to speak up, and take care of animals. We need to be their voice.
